FREE Open call: "Trieste: between past, present and future"

» Period: Monday 23 March 2020 – Sunday 17 May 2020
» Info:

dotART cultural association is announcing a new FREE open call, in addition to its festival Trieste Photo Days and its many other photographic projects. The new call, Trieste: between past, present and future, will be launched through the Exhibit Around platform.

We are looking for single photos and/or projects/portfolios portraying the ever-changing Trieste: a city of art and sea, rich in history, culture, food and wine excellence, a bridge with the East and the very heart of Central Europe. A city with a glorious past, but projected to the future.

Street photography is the style that suits us the most, but we are welcoming every kind of photo portraying Trieste in an original and unusual way.

Our aim is to publish a prestigious collective photographic book, which will be presented at the end of October during Trieste Photo Days festival.

Photographers interested in the project will have the chance to submit their works from before May 17, 2020, signing up in the user area of Exhibit Around.

» Deadline
The call is open from March 23 to May 17, 2020. In order to submit your photos, you will only have to sign up in the user area of Exhibit Around, select the call Trieste: between past, present and future. People who have already signed up in the past can use the account they have already created. Submissions to the call are free.

» Photographic book
The photos selected by dotART staff will be published in a prestigious photographic book, which will be officially presented during Trieste Photo Days festival. A selection of photos and/or projects will become part of the catalogue of the festival.

» Collective exhibition (June 2020 – still to be confirmed)
If the situation regarding Covid-19 will permit it, a selection of the best photos will be displayed in a collective exhibition in June 2020. We would like to organize the exhibition in the same way as Black & White Trieste, in several venues of the city centre.
If will be possible to set up the exhibition, we will ask the selected photographers a small production fee in order to become part of the Exhibit Around circuit. Fee will support the curatorship, the planning, the organisation, the printing, the visual communication, the transportation, the setting up of the exhibition and the photographic reportage, of which Exhibit Around will take care entirely.
The book and the exhibition will be promoted through dotART / Exhibit Around network (with a newsletter reaching more than 30.000 contacts, 6.000 likes on Facebook, a website, etc).
