A photographic and participatory portrait of the twin border towns Gorizia (Italy) and Nova Gorica (Slovenia), European Capital of Culture 2025. Frolova weaves portraits, interiors and urban landscapes with first-person testimonies about memory, identity and everyday crossings. Residents were invited to “draw the border as they feel it”; those sketches were redrawn by illustrator Mariia (Masha) Korytova and sequenced with the photographs, creating an “invisible cartography of feeling” that maps physical, mental and political lines—sometimes open, sometimes policed, often blurred. Guided during development by Denis Curti, the project becomes a choral, intimate study of separation and connection.
