We are delighted to announce the selected authors for the prestigious international photographic open call, “Canticle of the Creatures,” organized on the occasion of the VIII Centenary of the composition of the Canticle by Saint Francis of Assisi. This initiative, promoted by Trieste Photo Days in collaboration with the Order of Friars Minor, the OFM Fraternitas Foundation, the Faculty of Philosophy of the Pontifical Antonianum University, GPIC Friars Minor of Italy and Albania, and the Municipality of Assisi, invited photographers from around the world to interpret the beauty, virtues, and wounds of creation through their images.
The response to the call was extraordinary. Artists from diverse backgrounds and visions submitted their works, each inspired by the profound themes of the Canticle – the environment. The curatorial team faced the rewarding challenge of selecting projects and photographs that best captured the spirit of Saint Francis’s message: harmony with creation, respect for all living beings, and the hope of reconciliation.
The selected works will be featured in a dedicated photographic volume and exhibited in major shows in Assisi (Palazzo Frumentario, September 1–21, 2025) and Trieste (Trieste Photo Days, October 24–26, 2025), as well as in other traveling exhibitions throughout Italy.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their passion, creativity, and commitment. Your contributions are the lifeblood of this collective tribute to the enduring legacy of the Canticle.
Congratulations to the Selected Authors
