Trieste Photo Days 2025 Lights Up the City with Exhibit Around’s projects

2 October 2025

From October 23 to 26, the Trieste Photo Days  transforms the city into a crossroads of images and stories, with a key contribution from Exhibit Around. Once again, Exhibit Around’s projects stand out for their quality and originality, combining photography with other disciplines to create a stimulating and creative dialogue. Through exhibitions, workshops, talks, and special initiatives, the festival brings the best of contemporary photography to Trieste.

Among other international projects by Exhibit Around, Paolo Verzone will be the special guest of Mythography V: Juno, Venus and Vesta, a photographic project inspired by Greco-Roman mythology, realized in collaboration with Professor Enrico Medda.

URBAN Animals, dedicated to the coexistence of animals and urban spaces, and The Canticle of the Creatures, created to celebrate the 800th anniversary of Saint Francis of Assisi’s masterpiece, are the two exhibitions that will lead visitors on a journey through nature, spirituality, and contemporary life. The photographs of Dario De Dominicis, renowned photojournalist and special guest of the festival, will enrich both projects, offering the public an intense and surprising vision of reality.

India. Two gazes, one story offers a unique opportunity to explore the country’s complex identity, from ancient rituals to vibrant urban landscapes. The project, winner of the international call held in collaboration with the Museum of Oriental Art and the Phototeca of the Civic Museums of History and Art, brings together the photographs of Adriano Perini, preserved in the Phototeca, in dialogue with the works of Sandro Antoniolli, the project’s winner, creating an engaging exchange between different perspectives and generations.

Oltre le Parole. Photographic and Poetic Explorations into the Soul of Giuseppe Ungaretti (Beyond Words. Photographic and Poetic Explorations in the Soul of Giuseppe Ungaretti) pays tribute to the poet and his connection to Friuli Venezia Giulia, which profoundly shaped his poetry during World War I. Gianpaolo Arena’s photographs will interact with poems selected through an international open call, building a bridge between image and word that celebrates the poet’s legacy and the historical memory of the region.

The festival will also be an opportunity to celebrate and award the winners of the projects Mythography Vol. V: Juno, Venus and Vesta, URBAN Animals, and Il Cantico delle Creature, in the presence of the international guests. The festival is almost here: explore the full programme on the Trieste Photo Days website and let yourself be captivated by the magic of Trieste, an international capital of photography, ready to offer an unforgettable experience.
