The Exhibit Around APS and dotART associations, promoters of the Trieste Photo Days international festival, are launching an Open Call for the 71% - The State of Water project.
The project
«71%» represents the percentage of the earth's surface occupied by Water (source), the essential element for life that Exhibit Around APS aims to celebrate with a new photographic and editorial project to be presented at the tenth edition of International Photographic Festival Trieste Photo Days!
The goal is the photographic celebration of water, an element that unites all forms of life on earth.
The theme
In addition to the presence of water in nature (sea, watercourses, etc.), the social and environmental issues connected to it must also be taken into consideration, such as drought, climate changes, floods and all those variations of water which do impact life on Earth. Other topics to consider may be water as a form of energy (windmills, hydroelectric plants, dams) and its various forms such as snow, rain and ice.
Who is it for?
To photographers from all over the world interested in submitting single photos, but also projects and portfolios, focused on the relationship between man and water in all its forms.
The participating photographers will have the opportunity to become part of an important dedicated exhibition and to be published in the photographic volume.
The photos
Each author will be able to address the theme through the photographic genre he feels closest to: street photography, portrait, social reportage, documentary photography, nature photography, fashion photography, fine-art.
Photographic works must be able to explore the relationship between Man and Water.

71% - The State of Water follows the success of acclaimed Exhibit Around tribute projects, in which hundreds of photographers from five continents participate every year. After the tributes to Martin Parr (Short Street Stories, 2019), to Alex Webb (Chromantic, 2020), to street photography (Tales of the Unwritten, 2021) and to the female universe (WOW - Worlds of Women, 2022), the 2023 will be dedicated to Water.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
The call is open to all and registration is free. To submit photos, simply register or access the new Exhibit Around user area on my.dotlogic.net, select the call 71% - State of Water and follow the procedure for Single Photos and/or Projects/Portfolios.
We will select the works that will be part of the prestigious dedicated exhibition and that will be published in the photographic book dedicated to the project.
Prizes
Exhibit Around APS will select the Best Author of the project and the Honorable Mentions.
The award event will be held on the occasion of the Trieste Photo Days 2023 international photography festival and both best author and honorable mentions will receive an invitation as guests of honor at the Photographers' Dinner.

You may want to know...
Where and when will my photos be on display?
The best photos will be exhibited in a dedicated exhibition at the end of October 2023 as part of the international photography festival Trieste Photo Days 2023.
The exhibition venue will be the Sala Veruda of the prestigious Palazzo Costanzi, a stone's throw from the central piazza Unità d'Italia in Trieste.
Is participation free?
Participation in the Open Call is free.
Exhibit Around is a social promotion association, therefore it is not for profit. The photographers whose photos have been selected as the best will then be contacted by October 2022. There are no expenses contributions to be part of the exhibition.
What technical characteristics must the photos have?
A candidate photo will be selected as the cover. Authors wishing to submit their photo explicitly for the cover should add the word "cover" to the name of the uploaded file.
Photos must not contain signatures, watermarks, watermarks or frames. Images must be in '.jpg' format and the color mode must be RGB. The size of the single file must be less than 9 MB while the dimensions required for the photos are:
- minimum 2000px short side
- maximum 6000px long side
The file name must not contain special characters but only letters and/or numbers.
Who owns the rights of the candidate photos?
Each photographer retains the moral and intellectual property rights on their works submitted for the call. Each author grants the Exhibit Around and dotART association the non-exclusive right to use the winning / selected images to promote and/or advertise the association's non-profit activities, subject to official communication to the author (whose name will always be attributed to the 'Opera).
