Short Street Stories
Exhibit Around APS and dotART Associazione Culturale launch a new Open Call for entries in view of the Short Street Stories project with special guest Martin Parr.
The project
Short Street Stories is a tribute to the sardonic style of the famous British photographer Martin Parr who will be the special guest of the initiative.
The project will consist of a dedicated photographic exhibition and a photographic volume. Among the photos of the project we would have the honor of hosting some shots by Nick Turpin.
Who is it for?
To female photographers from all over the world interested in submitting single photos , but also projects and portfolios , which tell little street stories.
The participating photographers will have the opportunity to become part of an important photographic volume and an exhibition dedicated to the project.
The theme
The project will consist of rigorously street photos, capable of launching a humorous and satirical look at contemporary society. The lesson to be inspired by is that of Martin Parr , or that of the collectives In-Public , Un-posed and Burn My Eye : "anthropological" photography with an ironic slant , able to tell the modern world, the social differences through a new perspective and the changes going on.
The photos
For this Open Call, works that pay homage to the ironic style of Martin Parr or the surreal one of the In-Public and Un-posed collectives are requested . For this call we want to avoid "sad" photos and dark tones : the challenge is to tell the dark sides of society with a satirical eye.
Each photographer is therefore free to give his works the style he prefers, in compliance with the guidelines indicated above.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
The call is open to all and registration is free. To submit photos, simply register or access the Exhibit Around user area , select the Short Street Stories call and follow the procedure for Single Photos and/or Projects/Portfolios .
We will select the works that will be part of the prestigious dedicated exhibition and photographic volume . A selection of photos and/or projects will become part of the festival catalogue .

Following a precise curatorship work, Exhibit Around APS will select the Best Author of the project.
The award event will be held on the occasion of the Trieste Photo Days international photography festival .
