The 24Hrs are open to everyone. Interested photographers will be able to participate freely, equipped with their own photographic equipment and independent in their movements.

In case of bad weather we will communicate any postponements on this site and/or on our Facebook page.

Saturday 20th May and Sunday 21st May

We will meet in Erto, Casso and Longarone for the third photographic walk as part of the activities of the PixAround FVG 2023 photographic project.

The output is also part of the great Vajont Photo Days project created on the occasion of the celebration of the day in memory of the Vajont disaster. A multidisciplinary project that aims to remember the Vajont tragedy through the dialogue between photography, historical memory, dissemination, enhancement of the territory, scientific research (details in the “Open Call” section until June 4th).

The 2 days of photography is organized in collaboration with the Friulian Dolomites Natural Park Authority and the Pro Loco Association of Longarone, whom we thank for their availability and precious collaboration!

Participation is free.

SCHEDULE
Photographers are free to explore other glimpses independently and according to their own inspiration

Saturday 20th May 2023

• 9:30 am – Appointment at the Vajont Dam parking lot (with Punto Visite Diga) for shooting and guided visit to the dam from the Friulian Dolomites Natural Park and the surrounding places (Erto and Casso). Open in maps
• 1.00 pm – Lunch at the “Gallo Cedrone” in Erto (at a special price)
• Following – Shooting in Erto and Casso
• 8.00 pm – Dinner in Longarone (at a special price)

Sunday 21st May 2023

• 9:00 am – 11:00 am – Appointment at the Longarone Vajont Museum Moments of History for a guided tour and shooting at the Museum and monumental Church of Giovanni Michelucci
• Following – Visit and shooting at the Monumental Cemetery of the Vajont Victims in Fortogna
• 1.00 pm – Lunch at “da Benito” restaurant. Hamlet Pian di Vedoia, direction Ponte nelle Alpi (at a special price)
• Following – Free afternoon shooting

NOTES: comfortable sports clothing is required, especially for visiting the dam

Vajont Photo Days
The multidisciplinary project aims to remember the Vajont tragedy through the dialogue between photography, historical memory, dissemination, enhancement of the territory, scientific research, and is composed of:
photographic open call, two-day long photographic walk between Erto, Casso and Longarone, audio-visual document, exhibition with the best photographs received, publication, presentation event.

Vajont Photo Days is made possible with the contribution of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region – Io Sono FVG and the partnerships with CRAF – Photography Research and Archiving Center, DEAMS – Department of Economics, Business, Mathematics and Statistics “B. de Finetti” of the University of Trieste and the Regional Natural Park of the Friulian Dolomites, with the collaboration of Professor Giovanni Fraziano, Full Professor of Architectural and Urban Composition at the Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Trieste, Municipality of Vajont, ProLoco Vajont APS, Civil Defence of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Rogers Station.
Vajont Photo Days also makes use of the historical-artistic consultancy of Vincenzo Labellarte and Luigi Sorrentino.
