Deadline 5th May 2024

Open call for photographers about wines

diVine Insights: A Journey Through the World of Wine

Join us to celebrate the wonderful world of wine, through all its geographical, historical, cultural and social nuances.
Exhibit Around APS and dotART, the associations promoting the International Photography Festival Trieste Photo Days, invite all photographers worldwide to participate in this new, exciting Open Call!

The project

diVine Insights is a photographic journey into the wonderful, rich and complex world of wine.
Born as a reflection on the importance of winemaking in the history of our region, with this call we are looking to explore how the passion for wine around the world has resisted the challenges of time, allowing viticulture to prosper and grow.
The project includes the publication of a book, as well as photographic exhibitions, meetings and special guests and will be presented at the 11th edition of International Photography Festival Trieste Photo Days 2024.

The theme

The call aims to collect testimonies by local and international photographers who offer their perspective on the world of wine and viticulture: their ecological, social and/or geographical impact on the territory, people and cultures.
Whether it's a photo reportage or immortalizing a moment of pleasure with a glass in your hand, we can’t wait to see wine through your lens!

For who is it for

Calling all photographers worldwide! Whether you have a single photo or an entire project/portfolio, we want to hear from you.
Selected photographers will have the chance to win important prizes, become part of a great photographic exhibition and to be featured in the photographic volume.
All within the incredible framework of International Photography Festival Trieste Photo Days, in the presence of important special guests and internationally renowned photographers.

Le foto

The photographs must be aimed at exploring the historical, sociological or geographical culture of wine, and/or the relationship between man and viticulture.
Each author is free to choose the genre of photography that best represents them: portrait, landscape, still life, social reportage, street photography, creative photography, documentary photography, fine art, etc.

To get inspired

Origins and evolution of viticulture: historical places, buildings, artworks, stories and popular tales linked to the world of wine. Highlight the evolution of winemaking from ancient techniques to mass production.

Food and wine: capture the culture and education surrounding wine consumption. Explore gastronomy (in bars, restaurants, wine shops as well as everyday life),the relationship between wine and culture or the world of the "Masters of Wine".

The power of nature: capture the dynamic relationship between nature and winemaking. Illustrate the impact of climate, storms, soil and nature's vulnerability, especially in vineyards within extreme climates.

Wine and territory:
Showcase wine regions, landscapes, people and connections that transcend borders.

Special focus on the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia: celebrate the heritage, history and passion for wine of a unique and fascinating territory.
