Themes and style
The theme of the open call is India, explored in all of its aspects: from traditions to social changes, from culture to landscapes, with a focus that spans both historical and contemporary dimensions.
The selected project will be enhanced through a dialogue with the archival images from the Photo Library of the Civic Museums of History and Art of Trieste, creating a bridge between the past and the present, tradition and contemporary vision.
Participation is open to all photographic genres and techniques.
Participants are invited to submit projects/portfolios that, with particular attention to a well-defined and original visual and expressive research, can deeply tell the complexity of the theme.
The selection of the winning project will be made by a jury composed of:
- Claudia Colecchia, head of the Photo Library of the Civic Museums of History and Art of Trieste
- Francesca Avignone, curator at the Museum of Far Eastern Art in Trieste
Exhibition and opening
The exhibition will be part of the official program of the 12th edition of the Trieste Photo Days – International Photography Festival.
It will be curated at the Museum of Far Eastern Art, located in the heart of Trieste’s historic center. Housed in the 18th-century Palazzetto Leo, the Museum is one of the city’s main cultural and tourist attractions.
The winner will be a Special Guest of the festival, with guaranteed visibility on the official website and in the festival catalog. Additionally, they will receive a free 2-night stay to attend the opening event and give a talk, presenting their exhibition to the public.
Important: Considering the importance of the prize, the promotion of the project in collaboration with the institutions, and the nature of the prize itself (opening and talk during the Festival), the winner must guarantee their presence at the event, otherwise, they will be excluded from the call.

The production phases include:

The jury will award the most deserving project, assessing its ability to interpret the themes of the call and the depth of its vision of India.
Exhibit Around APS will guarantee the winner all the prizes provided, including hospitality at the festival and the opportunity to give a talk.
