A photographic tribute to the cultural heritage of Pier Paolo Pasolini. An Open Call on the occasion of the centenary of his birth.

In view of the centenary of the birth of Pier Paolo Pasolini, Exhibit Around APS together with dotART Associazione Culturale, launch the free open call dedicated to Pasolini's cultural heritage.
The project
The Pasolini Photo Days 2022 project aims to combine the world of photography with that of literature within the Trieste Photo Days international photography festival. The best photos collected will give life to a photographic volume and will be exhibited in a large exhibition dedicated as a tribute to Pasolini, intellectual and artist of the twentieth century.
Who is it for?
To female photographers from all over the world interested in submitting single photos, but also projects and portfolios, focused on Greco-Roman mythology and all its facets.
The participating photographers will have the opportunity to become part of an important photographic volume and to be exhibited in the dedicated exhibition.
The theme
The Open Call focuses on the world of Greco-Roman mythology and its facets. The submitted photos can draw free inspiration from the following themes: non-conformity and transgression (symbolized by Dionysus, divinity of wine and otherness), religion and the sacred, nature and roots and modernity and periphery.

Each author will be able to address the theme through the photographic genre he feels closest to, chosen from the following: fine-art, street photography, architectural photography and industrial archeology.
The photographic works must be able to re-read through photography some Pasolini themes that have elements in common with mythology and the ancient world.
The photographic volume Pasolini Photo Days: special Mythography will be edited by Enrico Medda, professor of Greek language and literature at the University of Pisa.
Pasolini Photo Days 2022 was realized with the contribution of the Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia, in collaboration and with the Partnership of CRAF - Research Center and Archive of Photography and Fondazione Pordenonelegge.it and the Municipalities of Cormons, Grado, Lignano Sabbiadoro, Sacile, San Daniele del Friuli and Sesto al Reghena.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
The call is open to all and registration is free. To submit photos, simply register or access the Exhibit Around user area, select the call Pasolini 2022: Mythography and follow the procedure for Single Photos and/or Projects/Portfolios.
We will select the works that will form part of the prestigious photographic volume and that will be displayed in the dedicated exhibition. A selection of photos and/or projects will become part of the festival catalogue.
Prizes
Following a precise curatorship work, Exhibit Around APS and dotArt Associazione Culturale will select the Best Photography of the project and Honorable Mentions.
The award event will be held on the occasion of the Trieste Photo Days international photography festival and both best author and honorable mentions will receive some CRAF books as gifts.

Where and when will my photos be on display?
The best photos will be exhibited in a dedicated exhibition running from 28 October to 27 November 2022.
The exhibition venue will be the Sala Attilio Selva of the prestigious Palazzo Gopcevich, a stone's throw from piazza Unità d'Italia in Trieste.
Is participation free?
Participation in the Open Call is free.
Exhibit Around is a social promotion association, therefore it is not for profit. The photographers whose photos have been selected as the best will then be contacted by October 2022. There are no expenses contributions to be part of the exhibition.
What technical characteristics must the photos have?
A candidate photo will be selected as the cover. Authors wishing to submit their photo explicitly for the cover should add the word "cover" to the name of the uploaded file.
Photos must not contain signatures, watermarks, watermarks or frames. Images must be in '.jpg' format and the color mode must be RGB. The size of the single file must be less than 9 MB while the dimensions required for the photos are:
- minimum 2000px short side
- maximum 6000px long side
The file name must not contain special characters but only letters and/or numbers.
Who does the rights to the candidate photos go to?
Each photographer retains the moral and intellectual property rights on their works submitted for the call. Each author grants the Exhibit Around and dotART association the non-exclusive right to use the winning / selected images to promote and/or advertise the association's non-profit activities, subject to official communication to the author (whose name will always be attributed to the 'Opera).
