The Trieste Photo Young photography contest is back with its second edition, promoted by Exhibit Around APS and the dotART cultural association.
The project
The project aims to discover, support and reward young photographers, offering them a prestigious exhibition space during the 9th edition of the Trieste Photo Days international photography festival, which will take place from 28 to 30 October 2022 and will host internationally renowned photographers such as Susan Meiselas , Nino Migliori and Shobha .
Who is it for?
To female photographers from all over the world who in the calendar year 2022 are between 18 and 30 years old. The authors can submit single photos , but also projects and portfolios .
The participating photographers will have the opportunity to see their photos included in the annual catalog of the Trieste Photo Days festival and to be exhibited at the exhibition dedicated to Trieste Photo Young 2022 .
The contest
The contest will be divided into 2 phases.
In the first phase the photos will be randomly distributed in 16 groups and voted by the staff of Exhibit Around APS , dotART Cultural Association and PAG .
The 2 best photos of each group (32 in total) will access phase 2 which will be a direct elimination grid divided into 16ths, along the lines of the World Cup . In this phase the photos will be voted on by a prestigious jury .
Theme and style
The theme is free. Everyone can instill their own stylistic code into the work, as well as choose the type of photography that is most congenial to them. We prefer street photography , architectural photography , and social reportage , but in general we like any quality photo that casts an original , unusual and personal look on the urban environment.

The second edition of the Trieste Photo Young photographic contest dedicated to young people is supported by the Pietro Pittini Foundation , in collaboration with PAG - Progetto Area Giovani of the municipality of Trieste and Trieste PhotoLab .
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
The call is open to all photographers in the world between the ages of 18 and 30. Registration is free. To submit photos, simply register or access the Exhibit Around user area , select the Trieste Photo Young 2022 call and follow the procedure for Single Photos and/or Projects/Portfolios .
We will select the works that will be part of the prestigious dedicated exhibition . A selection of photos and/or projects will become part of the festival catalogue .
Prizes
The Pietro Pittini Foundation , supporter of the Trieste Photo Young project , is giving away several prizes for the winning young photographer.
The 4 semi-finalists will receive a 2-night stay in Trieste to participate in the semi-finals and the final .
All 32 photos classified in phase 2 will receive a certificate of participation.

Where and when will my photos be on display?
The 32 photos classified in phase 2 will be exhibited in a dedicated exhibition which runs from 28 October to 30 October 2022 and from 5 to 6 November 2022.
The exhibition venue will be the Sala Comunale Arturo Fittke, 2 minutes from Piazza Unità d'Italia.
Is participation free?
Participation in the Open Call is free.
Exhibit Around is a social promotion association, therefore it is not for profit. The photographers whose photos have been selected as the best will then be contacted by October 2022. There are no expenses contributions to be part of the exhibition.
What technical characteristics must the photos have?
A candidate photo will be selected as the cover. Authors wishing to submit their photo explicitly for the cover should add the word "cover" to the name of the uploaded file.
Photos must not contain signatures, watermarks, watermarks or frames. Images must be in '.jpg' format and the color mode must be RGB. The size of the single file must be less than 9 MB while the dimensions required for the photos are:
- minimum 2000px short side
- maximum 6000px long side
The file name must not contain special characters but only letters and/or numbers.
Who does the rights to the candidate photos go to?
Each photographer retains the moral and intellectual property rights on their works submitted for the call. Each author grants the Exhibit Around and dotART association the non-exclusive right to use the winning / selected images to promote and/or advertise the association's non-profit activities, subject to official communication to the author (whose name will always be attributed to the 'Opera).
