Discover a new perspective on city life with Urban Animals, a fascinating photography project that explores the delicate balance between wildlife and urban spaces.

This stunning volume celebrates urban wildlife in all its forms — from street photography to documentary photography to contemporary art — offering a unique look at the complex coexistence of humans and animals in today’s cities.

Part of a larger initiative promoted by Exhibit Around APS and dotART, Urban Animals received an outstanding global response: over 11,000 photographs were submitted, including 7,736 single images and 272 photo projects, telling the story of the extraordinary variety of species that adapt to life in the city.

The volume brings together a surprising selection of images that reveal the often invisible presence of animals in our urban environments. Among the featured authors, we are particularly proud to include Dario De Dominicis, a renowned photojournalist and documentary photographer, whose work adds a profound narrative dimension to the project.

A selection of these works will be exhibited in a dedicated exhibition as part of Trieste Photo Days 2025, set up at the Sala Veruda (Passo Costanzi 2, Trieste), starting from 24 October 2025. More details will soon be available on the official Trieste Photo Days website.
