In Gorizia and Nova Gorica, a new participation success has been achieved, combining history and modernity for GO! 2025.

14 June 2024

On June 8th and 9th, 2024, the cities of Gorizia and Nova Gorica held a photography event dedicated to GO! 2025.

More than just a photographic exploration, the event was an emotional and cultural journey, providing an opportunity to immerse oneself in the beauty and diversity of two cities with a shared destiny. Participants had the chance to look beneath the surface, discover hidden stories, and capture unique moments, contributing to a mosaic of images of the two cities.

Journalist and writer Andrea Bellavite led the photographers through the historic streets of Gorizia, starting from the Central Station to Piazza Sant’Antonio. Throughout the journey, he shared the city’s history, anecdotes, and curiosities, all the way to the creation of the border with Nova Gorica, inspiring ideas and ideal scenarios for evocative photographic shots.

On Sunday, June 9th, the photo marathon shifted to Nova Gorica, a city representing the modern face of the region. Evelin Bizjak guided participants through the “Russian Blocs” and other significant areas, showcasing the city’s growth and transformation over time. With its contemporary architecture and innovative urban spaces, Nova Gorica provided a fascinating contrast to historic Gorizia, enabling photographers to capture the duality and complementarity of the two cities
