DOTLOGIC Società Cooperativa Impresa Sociale Impresa Culturale e Creativa launches Overshoot, its first international photography call dedicated to climate change, alongside the project La Forma del Calore (The Shape of Heat), created by Exhibit Around as part of RE-ACTIVE (Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027), sharing a common focus on one of the most urgent challenges of our time.
The selected photographs will be exhibited at Magazzino 26 in Trieste from October 23 to November 8, 2026, in the same spaces that will host Mark Power and Christopher Morris during Trieste Photo Days 2026, two internationally renowned names in contemporary photography.

Overshoot takes the theme to an international scale and is open to photographers worldwide interested in bringing their own account of climate change in its various forms, from changing landscapes to the people who adapt or resist.
The title refers to the crossing of the 1.5°C threshold of global average temperature rise above pre-industrial levels, the limit that the 2015 international climate agreement committed to pursuing. In 2024, for the first time, a full year passed that threshold. The Paris goal is measured as an average over decades, but that first year indicates that we have in all likelihood already entered the twenty-year period whose average will reach it: this is the beginning of what is known in scientific terms as an “overshoot”. Every fraction of a degree beyond that limit brings consequences that are more severe and less reversible for ecosystems and communities worldwide.
The open call seeks photographs of climate change: what happens to places, communities and habits when climatic balances break down. The theme can be approached through the changing landscape, coasts, plains, mountains, cities, but also through people: those who work, adapt or resist in the face of its effects, and the everyday gestures that the climate transforms.
Each photographer may approach the theme through the language they feel closest to: reportage, portrait, landscape, documentary photography, street photography or fine art. Only single photographs are admitted.

Selected works will be exhibited at Magazzino 26 and published in the catalogue. Each selected photographer also receives the Trieste Photo Days commemorative coin, to be collected in person in Trieste.
The deadline for entries is 31 August 2026. Full rules for the open call are available here.
DOTLOGIC stands alongside Exhibit Around in raising awareness on climate change, supporting the project La Forma del Calore (The Shape of Heat), which, as part of RE-ACTIVE (Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027), tells the story of heat waves in Friuli Venezia Giulia through graphic visualizations curated by DEAMS – Department of Economics, Business, Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Trieste, with the scientific support of Francesco Pauli, Full Professor of Statistics, Gioia Di Credico, RTT Researcher, and Vincenzo Gioia, Researcher, designed to make a complex phenomenon accessible to a non-expert audience.
The visualizations will be presented at Magazzino 26 alongside the photographic project HEATALY by Filippo Ferraro, in dialogue with the Overshoot exhibition, on the occasion of Trieste Photo Days 2026.
