“Pasolini Photo Days 2022: Mythography”: best authors and exhibition announced

From 28 October to 27 November international festival Trieste Photo Days 2022 will host a preview of Pasolini Photo Days 2022: Mythography at Palazzo Gopcevich, Trieste, Italy. The exhibition is taken from the first of the two volumes that make up the photographic tribute to Pier Paolo Pasolini promoted by dotART and Exhibit Around APS associations.

Conceived on the occasion of the centenary of Pasolini’s birth, the Pasolini Photo Days 2022 project will be a tribute that will combine photography, literature, re-mediation and moments of encounter, in the international context of Trieste Photo Days and the Photo Days Tour (the setting for events taking place outside the city during the festival).

Pasolini Photo Days 2022: Mythography is a special issue of the Exhibit Around series Mythography freely inspired by Greek / Roman mythology. Curated and introduced by Professor Enrico Medda, the volume aims to (re)read through photography some Pasolini themes that have elements in common with mythology and the ancient world.

The Palazzo Gopcevich collective exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday 28 October 2022 at 4.30 pm. On display, in addition to Pasolini Photo Days 2022: Mythography, also the photos from Mythography – Vol. # 02 plus the special guest Nino Migliori.

Trieste Photo Days team has also selected the best authors of Pasolini Photo Days 2022: Mythography, who will be awarded at Palazzo Gopcevich during the presentation of the exhibition together with the best authors of Mythography – Vol. # 02.

Pasolini Photo Days 2022 is realized with the contribution of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, together with CRAF – Centro di Ricerca e Archiviazione della FotografiaFondazione Pordenonelegge.it and the Municipalities of CormonsGradoLignano SabbiadoroSacileSan Daniele del Friuli and Sesto al Reghena. The project is aimed at the production of a double photographic volume: Pasolini Photo Days 2022: Mythography and Pasolini Photo Days 2022: The unmasked face. The latter will be edited and introduced by the writer Paolo Patui and will include photos inspired by the iconography of Pasolini’s cinema, in particular the faces and close-ups.
