The Pasolini Photo Days project will come to life in March 2023, with a large collective exhibition at the church of San Gregorio, in Sacile, Italy, as part of a special stage of the Photo Days Tour 2023.
During the opening event (date and time TBD), the two tribute-volumes to Pier Paolo Pasolini will be officially presented – Pasolini – Mythography and Pasolini – The Unmasked Face, from which the exhibition will be based.
The editors of the volumes, Professor Enrico Medda and writer Paolo Patui will also intervene.
Pasolini – Mythography is a special issue of the Mythography series, freely inspired by Greek/Roman mythology. Edited and introduced by Professor Enrico Medda, the volume aims to (re)read through photography some Pasolini themes that have elements in common with mythology and the ancient world. A selection of photos taken from the volume was previewed at Trieste Photo Days from 28 October to 27 November 2022, and will soon be exhibited at CineCity in Lignano Sabbiadoro.
Pasolini – The Unmasked Face will be edited and introduced by the writer Paolo Patui and will include photos inspired by the iconography of Pasolini’s cinema, especially faces and close-ups.
The exhibition at the church of San Gregorio in Sacile will contain a selection of photos taken from both volumes.
Conceived by dotART and Exhibit Around APS associations on the occasion of the centenary of Pasolini’s birth, Pasolini Photo Days 2022 is a tribute that combines photography, literature, re-mediation and moments of encounter, in the international context of the Trieste Photo Days and the Photo Days Tour. Common denominators: the work of Pier Paolo Pasolini, photography and the regional territory.
The project is carried out with the contribution of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, in collaboration and with the Partnership of CRAF – Centro Ricerca e Archivio della Fotografia, Fondazione Pordenonelegge.it and the Municipalities of Cormons, Grado, Lignano Sabbiadoro, Sacile, San Daniele del Friuli and Sesto al Reghena.
PRE-ORDERS OPEN. For those who wants to purchase a physical copy of the books they’re both in pre-order in our bookshop.
