The Exhibit Around APS association, in collaboration with Društvo humanistov Goriške (DHG), IN/ARCH Triveneto, and the dotART cultural association, inaugurates the multidisciplinary and action-research project “The Double City“.
The project focuses on Gorizia and Nova Gorica, involving international artists and researchers supported by cultural experts. It aims to create a “re-imagined” community from different identities, transforming the two cities into a new cross-border center. The project specifically targets communities divided by borders, emphasizing cities that were once a single entity but are now split between two countries. There are 36 such twin cities in the European Union, each with a unique border situation.
Under the spotlight of the GO! 2025 – European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica-Gorizia 2025, “The Double City” project rethinks borders, multilingualism, and multiculturalism from an international perspective to enhance connections between local, regional, and international artists and organizations.
The main activities of the project include:
The activities carried out will give life to a multimedia document describing “The Double City”, composed of interviews with the partners, the Under 35s in residence, and the experts, as well as images created during the activities.
