Do you know who I would give the most important award to? To Trieste and to these people who dedicated hundreds of hours to make this global event that for me is the most important I have found in my career. Think that I have been working in the world of photography for 80 years however I have never found a situation like this in any city in Italy.

On the occasion of the 10th Trieste Photo Days – International Urban Photography Festival (27th-29th October), the cultural associations dotART and Exhibit Around APS, the creators of the festival, are celebrating the festival’s hometown with the photo project:

AUDACIOUS TRIESTE

A tribute to the city that gave birth to the Trieste Photo Days, now one of the most important events in Italy and Europe, which has grown over the years thanks to the support of institutions, the participation of hundreds of photographers from all over the world and capable of bringing to Trieste international guests of undisputed depth.

Trieste is Audacious!
It dares, it gets involved, it keeps up with the times without forgetting its origins. Active and lively Trieste is the city of art and sea, rich in History, culture and food and wine excellence, gateway to the East and heart of Central Europe.

Trieste is a city with a glorious past that looks to the future just as it looks to the sea.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
Original and unusual looks at daily life, architecture, the gulf, the Karst, traditions, flavors! Be captured by Trieste, the city of the bora wind, historic cafes, big names in literature, many borders and crossroads of worlds and cultures.

THE PROJECT CONSISTS OF:
– a free open call for submissions of photographs that tell the story of the city (April 1st-30th)
– a photography outing (Saturday, April 1st)
– a publication and exhibition (presentation at the Trieste Photo Days 2023, October 27th-29th)
